The Houston-born rapper has been in the scene for a while, dropping his debut album “Days Before Rodeo” in 2013, sophomore album “Rodeo” in 2015, “Birds in the Trap” in 2016, including the famous track “Goosebumps,” “ASTROWORLD” in 2018 featuring the track “SICKO MODE,” and his latest project “Utopia” released last year. Travis is known for his concerts: the lights, the energy, the crazy crowds, the cool pyrotechnics, and the flying objects he rides on. He is currently one of the most talented performers out there. He speaks to his crowds, whether it's two thousand or sixty thousand people. When I saw him at Rolling Loud, California, the energy was unmatched compared to any concert I've ever attended. I was curious to see if the energy would be at the same level with a smaller crowd. It was - I shouldn't have been surprised.

On the tour's first leg, the upcoming artist Teezo Touchdown opened to a lukewarm reception. With Teezo off the lineup for the second leg, no one knew who was going to come out and perform for the opening act. The concert started as just a typical DJ set; this was until Chase B, Travis’s DJ, told us he had a special guest for us. Well-known rapper Sheck Wes came out; this was a surprise to everyone in attendance and the crowd went insane. He performed many of his songs, including some of his biggest hits; “Mo Bamba” and “Live Sheck Wes” were the ones fans went craziest for. The energy was off the walls; people were jumping around and ramming into each other. But this wasn't even close to the energy when Travis Scott would take the stage.

Travis was launched from the middle of the stage to the beat drop of the song “Hyaena.” The crowd went absolutely nuts. Massive subwoofers surrounded the stage in the center of the general admission section. The stage was a set that resembled a rocky plateau that Travis would run, dance, and jump around throughout the show. Staying in one place is hard for Travis. He ensured he interacted with every side of the stage he could. He had amazing interactions with the fans, inviting eight up at a time to put on the flying “parasail,” a reference to one of his new songs from his latest release. Other fan interactions happened when he performed his latest hit, “F!EN,” nine times. He would find a fan in the audience, someone who was not his typical fan or someone who looked like they were going crazy. Then he would continue to talk to them, and usually, this is how it would go: he pointed to a young boy. He continued to ask his age. “11,” the kid responded, then Travis said, “he's 11, HE'S F!ENING FOR MORE!” He repeated the phrase “. . . F!ENING FOR MORE” every time before he played the song again. This was one of the craziest parts of the concert.

Even though he played this song many times, he still played many of his other hits, newer and older. Some of the fan-favorites were “Mamacita,” “Highest In The Room,” “No Bystanders,” “Antidote,” “SICKO MODE,” and “Goosebumps.” The audience was insane; the GA was going wild, and in the seated sections, everyone had their shirts off, and they were swinging them over their heads. Travis was very happy with the crowd and the energy, thanking the crowd for the love and support from Boston many times. The Circus Maximus Tour is a must-see if you have the possibility too—major props to Travis Scott for such a successful performance.
