The Umbrella Concert Series In Partnership With Salt Lick Sessions Present a Special Evening on March 28

The Umbrella Concert Series partnered with Salt Lick Incubator's Salt Lick Sessions to host three emerging artists on March 28. The concert series at The Umbrella Arts Center gives a platform to musicians and is part of a broader initiative to host multiple events each season to showcase rising stars.

The evening will feature captivating performances from Salt Lick Incubator artists Grace Gardner, Sofia Lafuente, and Farayi Malek. These powerhouses will perform in Concord, MA as part of a series that has previously featured Tiny Habits, who is opening for James Taylor this summer, and Alisa Amador, who recently opened up for Lake Street Dive. The stunning 350-seat theater creates an intimate atmosphere where guests have the opportunity to get to know the artists and their music.

Grace Gardner merges 80s rock and folk genres to create a unique blend of lyric-forward songs. They pull inspiration from their parents' music tastes, their Southern upbringing, and the heart of the sounds of New Orleans, where they studied neuroscience in college. This singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist plays ten instruments and incorporates orchestral, brass, percussive, and software-based elements into their work. They have joined artists such as Adam Melchor, Frances Forever, and Tiny Habits on tour and recently embarked on their first headline tour this year.

Split between Miami and Madrid, Spanish-American artist and songwriter Sofia Lafuente has quickly made a name for herself in the Latin alternative scene. Her ethereal vocals and evocative storytelling have earned her a dedicated following that gravitates toward her vulnerability. Modern artists like Lana Del Rey, Shakira, and Lizzy McAlpine inspire Lafuente to infuse her music with emotional depth and introspective lyrics, cementing her as an artist to watch.

Malek is a GRAMMY® nominated vocalist who has traveled the world with Danilo Perez’s Global Messengers. Her inspirations range from American folk music to the blues and jazz she studied. Malek shares her vast musical knowledge as a professor at various esteemed institutions including Berklee College of Music and New England Conservatory. She will be releasing her debut EP Edge of the Earth on March 27, just a day before The Umbrella Concert Series performance.
