Pop star Molly Grace's Sold-Out Hometown Show

"My home! I'm so happy to be back. Let's have a good time tonight, alright?" - Molly Grace

Pop-funk disco queen Molly Grace graced The Sinclair stage on Friday, February 28, closing out the month in style. Fans of all ages spilled into the venue in sparkling pink dresses, faux fur coats, and heart sunglasses until the venue was at its capacity. LIFEBEAT, a program of the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation, had a table near the merchandise, attracting guests as they passed by and providing them with vital resources and support needed to prevent HIV and champion sexual health. Boston correspondent Samantha Davidson dipped backstage to snap some portraits with Grace before the night's festivities began. Preshow rituals for the star include vocal rest, hair touchups, and picking out which of her signature pumps to wear.

Grace is a natural model; she effortlessly posed in front of the camera and laughed between shots. She couldn't stop smiling as she celebrated with her team for achieving this milestone. Grace sold out The Sinclair, a venue that has been a stepping-off point for inspirations of hers like Chappell Roan, who performed there in 2023. Just last March, the singer performed at the now-closed Rockwood in Fenway, a venue with less than 4x the capacity of The Sinclair. Her meteoric rise is thanks to the feel-good and empowering music she creates, coupled with the indescribable joyous energy she exudes on stage.

Opener Claire Ernst kicked off the night with equally catchy tracks, debuting new songs and sharing that her latest album is in the works. She emerged on stage in a black babydoll dress with colorful floral lace detailing and knee-high black boots. Her powerful voice wowed the crowd and left a lasting impression. She last stopped in Boston when opening for Zinadelphia at Cafe 939 in November. Ernst revealed she was feeling some nerves as The Sinclair is the largest room she's ever played in. The crowd would have never known due to her confidence and natural stage presence. Playful tracks like "Broke" got the audience dancing, and emotional ballads like "9 Times Out of 10" fostered an intimate connection with fans.

At 9:00 pm sharp, Grace's voice came across the speakers. She put together a playful radio show skit where the singer chats with herself and jokes about how she should be on stage. The room erupted with cheers when Grace strutted on stage in a strapless glittering pink mini dress. Fans emphatically waved and blew kisses to the singer, freaking out each time she interacted back. Her connection with her fans was palpable, with the star crouching down to hold hands and sing with everyone throughout her set.

She performed the unreleased track "Mad At Her Forever" out this Friday, March 7. The song is already a hit, with fans clapping on queue and immediately picking up on the lyrics. Standout tracks "Woman's Intuition" and "Lover (Love Her)" united the crowd through their upbeat instrumentals and witty lyricism. Grace's knack for creating community reached its peak when she played her newest single "F.E.M.M.E." The track explores how identity and belonging do not depend on looks and that one should always embrace one's authentic self. Everyone in the venue screamed the lyrics, uniting the crowd and leaving a lasting impression on each fan.
