The band opened with an electrifying performance of "All My Life" as golden hour fell across the field, bringing a wave of fans to their feet for a 3 three-hour show. Lead singer Dave Grohl was a powerhouse, leading the audience in impassioned melodies and gritty screams all night. While drummer Josh Freese comes with an impressive resume, it's no secret he's had big shoes to fill after the tragic loss of FF's longtime drummer and founding member Taylor Hawkins in 2022. Freese supported the band with rousing solos and flawless fills, extinguishing any doubts, protecting his predecessor's legacy, and earning Grohl's praise. Grohl touted his drummer's extensive experience, saying Freese was "the reason we are even able to do this". Founding members Nate Mendel (bass) and Pat Smear (rhythm guitar) provided quality riffs consistent with their career-spanning studio recordings, with longtime lead guitarist Chris Shiflett and newcomer Rami Jaffee (keys) bringing a fresh flare to a setlist stacked with new and old classics. From a moving rendition of "My Hero", to a cover mashup, and recent hits like "Under You" and "The Teacher", FF's had something for everyone to enjoy. The band ended with "Everlong" under a full moon, making for an almost spiritual experience for OG fans and rookies alike.
